Planning now for May 16th. . .

With all of the controversy around "The Golden Compass" of late, I was wondering if Walden Media was going to continue with the Narnia series. Then, this morning, I found this link.

Looks awesome! (coincidentally, I just started re-reading Prince Caspian last night.)

We're just ready to start a new family chapter book. I think it's time to start them on the Chronicles of Narnia.

Yeah, I've been following it too. Looks like they've managed to bring back all the actors for the recurring characters. More info can be found at at the Internet Movie DataBase (IMDB) website, at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499448/ .

So, everyone I know who's read the series has favorites and less-than-favorites. I particularly enjoyed Dawn Treader, Horse and His Boy, and Silver Chair more than the others.

I'm imagining what Silver Chair would be like in movie form; if directed by a competent director, it could be gloriously bleak. And I hope they don't "PC-ize" Lewis' depiction of the horrible school Eustace and Jill attend, or the ending where they whip the tar out of their would-be bullies.

Which are your favorite books of the series?

Tim,

It's been so long since I read them last it's hard to say which is my favorite. That said, I was amazed, as I picked up "Prince Caspian" again, how many of the minor details I vividly remembered. I have the rest of the series sitting on my bedside table; I'll answer your question after I'm done re-reading.
